We have decided to embrace and enhance on an old friend of ours here at Lost Language… Psytrance. What better way to kick of the new year with a new flavour from Serbian producer Sonic Entity and his ‘Rainmaker’ EP. Those of you familiar with psytrance will be well aware of its characteristics and features, but it’s a producers ability to differentiate from the line that kicks a great psytrance track into life and Sonic Entity has not dissapointed! The first track; ‘Rainmaker’ opens the EP with a cosmic dissonance that roles into that melodic pumping bass line which carries a cyber style tinge within the melodies of the stabs, gradually building throughout the breakdown and then slamming you back into the rolling bass. A great introduction. Sonic Entity then ups the levels for ‘Genome Evolution’, the dissonance is vapourised and you are greeted by a harder, larger beat which picks up the energy levels for the next push. The track progresses and you are met by a haunting vocal, draped across the back of the mix as your journey begins to slow. This is all in flase hope though as you accelerates and continue deeper into the EP. To round off the trip, you’re dropped into ‘Travel Without Moving’ – A heavily melodic; rolling track with acidic aftertones. The track emits a safer atmosphere as the vocal becomes more complasent within in the mix, the progression through the break down with the harder trance style synth sits perfectly on top of the psy bass line as you return from the glactic journey that Sonic Entity has captained.
