We are Flembaz, João Bandarra and Pedro R. Artur from Portugal, in our early 20s. We started producing electronic music around 10 years ago but only got to know each other in the beginning of 2011. During the summer that same year we decided to join efforts, and Flembaz was born out of that. We've had individual projects in the past in different styles of music, but never reached the level we pursuit, so in this project we decided to get our stuff organized and tidied up, mixing different genres of electronic music.
For our debut album, Indigo, we produced 11 tracks of different genres like progressive house, techno, electro, dubstep, and glitch-hop, trying to cater to different dance floor tastes, because we, as listeners, like several different styles and dynamic albums as well, able to provide different emotional states.
We started working on this album part time on September 2011, using some of our old tracks and remixing them, but most of the album was produced from scratch. It was quite difficult to get the album finished, due to epic system crashes (we love Windows LOL), lack of time and concentration so in late February we had the album finished.
Being always supportive of free, open source music, we have been sharing most of our music in online forums, blogs, etc, as individual artists for many years and we would like to keep that up with Flembaz. But in this case we want to give more than free music, and offering the multitracks along with the original tracks. This gives people chance to remix, reuse, or just learn something.
With Internet's possibilities, we want a more direct relationship with the fans, giving you the possibility of drawing our sound, without any intermediary.
