Release Notes:
° 1991 was a common year starting on Tuesday of the °
° Gregorian calendar in the 20th century. During °
° this year, music producer Ramon Zenker and DJ °
° Oliver Bondzio first met and began working °
° together. They formed Hardfloor, put out their °
° first single Let Da Bass Go on Sven Vaeth's Eye Q °
° label, began a prolific career of over 40 °
° singles, EPs and albums, and created a whole new °
° future for global techno. This was only the °
° beginning. °
° °
° In 1992, they produced what is to this day °
° indisputably one of the most influential techno °
° singles of all time - the Hardtrance Acperience °
° EP, the eighth 12" release on Sven Vaeth's °
° Harthouse label. With this release they °
° essentially invented a timeless style of °
° electronic music that was superbly deejay- °
° friendly, dancefloor-filling, and relentlessly °
° infectious with long building intros, breaks and °
° builds. Their signature manipulation of the °
° Roland TB303 revolutionized the techno world. °
° Ramon and Oliver became masterful at coaxing °
° catchy sequences and basslines out of their °
° multitude of magical silver boxes, a style that °
° influenced a generation of young producers and °
° has been endlessly imitated but never surpassed. °
° °
° Unlike the one-hit-wonders of the faceless techno °
° world, Hardfloor was prolific - their releases °
° were a steady stream but full of innovation – °
° their skills at producing developed and they °
° added textures and qualities to their music that °
° left their imitators in the dust. Nearly every °
° corner of the world got to experience their live °
° show in all its glorious extremes. °
° °
° Their skills are constantly in demand by other °
° artists who want their music to have that °
° Hardfloor edge - Oliver and Ramon have remixed °
° almost everyone from Depeche Mode to New Order, °
° to Anne Clarke and Yello. Their remixing °
° successes ever further prove that their style has °
° a timeless, original, everlasting quality that is °
° appealing across genres. °
° °
° Two Decades of Hardfloor documents exactly that; °
° for twenty years Ramon and Oliver's collaborative °
° reliability has given the world some of its best °
° techno music, thoughtfully represented by this °
° strategic collection compiled on 3 CDs. From °
° thrilled up acid tweakers to downtempo electro °
° swirls, the range and quality of their 20 year °
° output is evident. While leaving out any material °
° from their most recent album "Two Guys, Three °
° Boxes", Hardfloor offer fans something extra °
° special by including previously unreleased tracks °
° "Eternal Tweak" and "T.D.O.H." (Two Decades Of °
° Hardfloor), one being exquisitely atmospheric, °
° the other being infectiously phunky. °
° °
° Two Decades of Hardfloor - for the enjoyment of °
° those who know, and the education of those who °
° don't! °
