Hypnagogia, an altered state of consciousness accessible without use of pharmacological agents is the borderland of sleep. During that short period of time before falling into sleep, one may experience a wide array of sensory phenomena, of which the auditory are specially interesting. In the hypnanogic state of mind it is not uncommon to hear strange noises occuring randomly or distant voices emerging and returning into the void. Sounds, complex and multilayered, are full of symbolism and ephemeral meanings, just like the dream itself. This transition phase between the wakefullness and sleep has always interested philosophers and scientists alike, being one of the great mysteries of the mind. Medulla Oblongata gathered a group of oneironauts to research the subject and hereby we present the result of their studies on the dark nature of hypnagogia. Enjoy!
