The word 'anthem' is thrown around far too readily in dance music. Most of the time it's a by-word for 'memorable' or 'energetic' but in the case of this new Pacha classics album, these really are anthems: Tunes that define the last 20+ years of dancefloor evangelism and have influenced myriad producers in their wake, each of these 63 tracks deserve 'anthem' status. Joe Smooth's "Promised Land", K-Klass's "Let Me Show You Love", The Fog's "Been A Long Time", Dubfire's remix of DeLacy's "Hideaway" - the list goes on and on. If you've got a few gaps in your collection, or you're only just discovering house music's triple decade legacy, this is an essential investment.
